At Little Gems we encourage positive behaviours and discourage negative behaviour through positive reinforcement. We simply praise good behaviour whilst avoiding giving attention to any negative behaviour as much as possible. This behavioural philosophy is encouraged by leading child behavioural specialists across the globe as being the most effective method to develop positive social behaviour.
We ensure the child is aware that any negative behaviour is inappropriate and may harm themselves or other people and implement a ‘Listening Spot’ where a child may take some time to calm down and reflect. In the event of serious episodes of anti-social behaviour parents will be notified and a behavioural plan will be put into place in collaboration with the parents.
